The Amotekun Operatives of the Ekiti South West Local Government Command apprehended a 25-year-old Ojo Adewunmi, a native and dweller of Ilawe-Ekiti on Tuesday 21st January 2025.
It was unveiled by the Officers of the town that, the arrest of the suspect was a result of his alleged attempt in the raping of a 19-year-old schoolgirl (name and identity withheld). It was further explained that the victim was forcefully locked indoors by the suspect, in a dastardly mission to copulate with her, but which became futile on the arrival of the Officers of the Corps.
The girl however narrated her experience at the scene, pointing out how she remained helpless and hopeless after screaming, until the arrival of the Officers of the Corps for necessary assistance.
The suspect has since been handed over to the Police Division in Ilawe-Ekiti for further investigation and possible prosecution.

On Wednesday 15th January 2025, two Hausa men, Ballah Ibrahim, 50 years old and another 50-year-old Nasiru Abubarka, both of whom hail from Sokoto State were apprehended by the Amotekun Operatives in lkere-Ekiti Outpost Command during a Stop and Search Patrol along Akure Road in lkere-Ekiti.
Upon interrogation by the arresting Officers, the suspects said they were going for hunting at one forest in Eporo area of Emure-Ekiti.
On searching them, some exhibits such as: three (3) barrels, three (3) hunting dogs, one (1) cutlass and one (1) axe were recovered from them.
The duo, alongside the exhibits recovered from them, were immediately handed over to the Police Jurisdiction in lkere-Ekiti for further investigation and next line of action.

On Wednesday 4th September 2024, the Amotekun Operatives of Oye Local Government Command apprehended a 26-year-old Efoghae Friday who hails from Edo state and resides in Ado-Ekiti.
Information unfolded that, the suspect came under the pretense of begging for money from Mrs. Tiamiyu Tosin, a roadside petty trader at Fajuyi where she was finding change for her customer and stole her money (#30,000).
Moreso, the suspect was reported to have been harassing people, especially passers-by and motorists whenever they didn't give him money.
However, it was revealed that the victim was bitten by the suspect on her chest near the breast while he (the suspect) was being taken down to the police station on a bike before our Operators were later alerted on the road.
He has therefore been transferred to the police RRS for further investigation.

On Wednesday 4th September 2024, the Amotekun Operatives of Oye Local Government Command arrested a 31-year-old man named Mr. Babatunde Moses who is an indigene and resident of Itaji-Ekiti
Information revealed that the suspect encroached on the farmland of Mr. Adeleye Emmanuel at Ayegbaju-Ekiti and stole his farm produce (nutmegs), natively known as "Ario".
It was equally revealed that the suspect was threatening the man (farm owner) and his son with a locally-made pistol loaded with bullets.
The suspect has therefore been handed over to the police RRS in Ado-Ekiti, with the exhibit recovered from him for further profiling.

On Saturday 24th August 2024, the Amotekun Operatives of lkole-Ekiti Local Government Command arrested three Fulani Boys named: Umaru Aliu, Ado Aliu, and Zakariyat Aliu for attacking an 18-year-old boy named; Ayewumi Opeyemi Olaiya who is a native and resident of lkole-Ekiti.
According to the information reaching us, the victim and his mother were returning home from the farm when suddenly the Fulanis accosted them and decorated his foot with a machete cut. He was immediately rushed to Federal Medical Center, lkole-Ekiti for quick medical treatment.
The suspects have been handed over to the Ikole Police Division for further investigation and prosecution.

On Thursday 22nd August 2024, the Operatives of Gbonyin Local Government Command apprehended a 24-year-old man named, Mr. Gbenga Sunday, an indigene resident of Aisegba-Ekiti.
Information unveiled that, the suspect confessed to having committed a stealing act, at the residence of Mr. Adeokun in Aisegba-Ekiti as he carted away his goat.
After a brief investigation at Gbonyin Local Government Command of the Amotekun, he was later handed over to Gbonyin Police Division with his exhibit for further profiling and possible prosecution.

The Amotekun operatives of Ekiti made an arrest of two suspected thieves.
A 40-year-old Mr. Ola Peters, who is a native of lkere-Ekiti and a 30-year-old Mr. Rotimi Tope who hails from Kaba in Kogi State were arrested by the Amotekun Operatives of lkere Local Government Command on Monday 29th July, 2024 for stealing bags of cement.
Information revealed that the duo connived in the stealing of three bags of cement at Abbey Block industry, located at Kajola street in lkere-Ekiti.
The suspects have therefore been handed over to lkere Police Division for further investigation.

On Wednesday 17th July 2024, the Corps Chief of Operations, Mr. Rotimi Ajayi was granted an interview at The Radio Nigeria (Progress f.m 100.5) situated at llokun, along lworoko Road, Ado-Ekiti.
The interview which kicked off at exactly 1010hrs was anchored by a renowned radio presenter, Mr. Kayode Ogundapo and announced by Mr. Jaiye Oke on the topic: Security Matters in the State.
At pleasantries, the Anchor enquired about the misuse of firearms by some Security Operatives of the State.
In response to the question, the Chief of Operations replied that intensive training in any profession should always be taken into cognizance for the avoidance of any wrongdoings. Likewise, training on firearms in security settings should be considered a periodic exercise to gather more experience and avoid mishandling of rifles. He further explained that the misuse of rifles among some Security Operatives often occurs owing to ignorance and precarious condition of such rifles.
Furthermore, there was another question from the Anchor, in respect of the normal training period for security personnel on firearms. Chief of Operations replied that normal training period on firearms should be ranged between 6-9 months to ensure handling skills are sharpened.
In response to a question asked on the synergy between Amotekun Corps and other sister agencies in Ekiti State, the Chief of Operations gave the answer in the affirmative. He further said that, even the Obas and the hunters are always kept abreast of our coming to their lands for bush combings because of their familiarities with the nooks and crannies of the areas.
During the call-in section, It was also advised by the callers that, the use of technology should have become the order of the day as a driving force to combat insecurities in the state and Nigeria at large. The Chief of Operations gave an immediate response that, it only involves the responsibilities of our government to see to such things. He also added that, technology is another form of charms to purge the state of criminal elements. He therefore buttressed this by mentioning the roles played by drones and the like in battling crimes. He later appealed to the present administration to do the needful so it could be monitoring the hoodlums/criminals in their hideouts.
Finally, he on behalf of the Corps Commander, *Brig-Gen Olu Adewa (rtd)* expressed appreciations to His Excellency, Abiodun Abayomi Oyebanji for stretching his helping hands on Amotekun Corps, especially for the donation of operation vehicles to fight crimes in the state.
He thereafter solicited his assistance towards recruiting more security personnel into the Corps and provide the necessary equipment needed to ease and fast track the growth and development of Amotekun Corps in Ekiti State.

On Monday 8th July 2024, the Amotekun Operatives of Efon Local Government Command arrested a 20-year-old Oluwadare Gbenga, who resides at Babalola Area of Efon Alaaye Local Government and an indigene of the town.
Investigation disclosed that, the suspect attempted a rape on a 20-year-old Obaseesin Toyosi who is also a native and resident of the same town at lloja street.
As misfortune would have it for him, he was caught in the process of the raping attempt by our men during a patrol.
On arriving at the scene, she was reported to have been hospitalized for medical test by her family. Meanwhile, the suspect has been handed over to Efon Police Division in Efon Local Government for further investigation.

On Wednesday 3rd July 2024, the Amotekun Operatives of Ado Local Government Command apprehended a 24-year-old Sodiq Raji (male) who is a resident and native of Odo Ado, Ado-Ekiti. The co-suspect is a 23-year-old Timileyin (male) also a resident and an indigene of Odo Ado, Ado-Ekiti.
It was disclosed to our Corps that, the duo broke into the shop of Mrs. Durojaye Jimoh who deals in provisions at Odo Ado in Ado-Ekiti around 4:00 a.m and carted away some of her items.
Meanwhile, luck ran against them as they were caught red-handed under the eagle eyes of Amotekun Corps during a night patrol.
Some of the items recovered from them were groceries of provisions being retailed by the Chandler.
The suspects have therefore been handed over to the Nigeria Police, Ado-Ekiti Division for further investigation.

Information revealed that the suspect went to his uncle's (Mr. Afowowe Kenya) farmland and stole some of his produce including bunches of banana, and some quantity of cocoa pods.
He also started threatening his uncle with a dagger and promised to mutilate his uncle if he dared to come to the farm. Upon arrest, he confessed to the crime and the threat and he further said that the motive behind the act was to source for money through various means where he settled for stealing farm produce.
The suspect is currently in Amotekun custody and being profiled at Headquarters Command, Ado Ekiti.

The state commandant of the Ekiti state Security Network Agency, also known as Amotekun, Brigadier-General Ibukun Olu Adewa (rtd), has charged the residents of the state on the need to support the security outfit by ensuring there is adequate security in the coming year 2024.
The retired Army Brigadier-General, who stated, this in a press release he personally signed, commended the efforts of all the officers of the corps for their cooperation in 2023.
He appealed for their continued cooperation in the new year 2024 for a successful tackling of insecurity challenges in the state.
Brigadier-General Adewa (rtd) appreciated the government of Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji for all his support for Ekiti Amotekun, especially for encouraging and boosting the morale of his officers in their bid to stamp out crime and threats to live and properties in the state.
Noting that he has been able to effect lots of new developments since coming on board as the Ekiti Command boss in August 2023, part of which was touring all 16 local government areas of the State for familiarisation, cracking down on many criminals in places like Ikere, Ise Ekiti, Emure Ekiti, Ogbese, Omuo, Odo Ado area of Ado Ekiti, Ikogosi Ekiti in Ekiti West Local Government Area among others.

On Wednesday 22nd May 2024, a 24-year-old man named Awoyemi Tunde from Osun-Ekiti, who lives in Moba Local Government Area, was arrested by Amotekun Operatives of Moba Local Government Command, in Ekiti State.
The suspect was caught breaking into the church, stealing a drum set and bells and some quantiy of nails. With the sole intention to sell and use the proceeds for nefariously.
The co-suspect had fled before our operatives arrived at the scene. This arrest is coming on the heels of a chin up warning by the Corps Commander Brig. Genenal Adewa(rtd) that the state must be rid of criminal elements.
The suspect is now being investigated further at Moba Division Police.

On Wednesday 26th June 2024, another journey was embarked on by the Chief Instructor, Officer Ayodeji Adeyanju coupled with his team to Efon Alaaye Local Governments Command where Ijero and Ekiti West Local Government Commands were in attendance to partake in the second phase of the Training Programme across the sixteen (16) local government areas of the state.
The two-hour classroom lecture which encapsulated the following:
1. Human Relations
2. Conflict Management and Conflict Resolution Strategies
3. Fourteen (14) principles of Human Relations
4. Differences between Conflict Management and Conflict Resolution
5. Types and Kinds of Conflict Management Styles
6. Questions to ask before choosing a Conflict Management Styles
7. Skill Acquisition in Conflict Management
8. Conflict Resolution Tips
9. Inter-personal and lntra-personal Conflicts.
10. Things to do to avoid Conflicts in an organization, etc
Afterwards, the second two-hour lecture involving Stop-and-Search (VCP) was anchored by the Chief Instructor engulfing the following areas:
1. Stop and Search
2. Vehicle Check Points
3. Divisions of Stop and Search
4. Standard VCPs
5. What to bring along during Stop and Search
6. The Officers who are eligible to engage in Stop and Search
7. Mannerisms in Stop and Search
8. Actions that may contravene Stop and Search
9. Reasons for Stop and Search
10. The use of Radio Phone (walkie talkie). etc

On Monday 25th June 2024, the Chief Instructor, Officer Ayodeji Adeyanju and his team traveled down to Oye Local Government Command for the second phase of the training programme across the state where lkole Local Government Command and Omuo Local Government Command were also convened.
The lecture was preambled by Officer Owolafe Bunmi (Senior Instructor) focused on topics like :
1. Human Relations
2. Conflict Management and Conflict Resolution Strategies
3. Five (5) principles of Human Relations
4. Differences between Conflict Management and Conflict Resolution
5. Types of Conflict Management Styles
6. Questions to ask before choosing a Conflict Management Style
7. Skill Acquisition in Conflict Management
8. Conflict Resolution Tips.
9. Inter-personal and lntra-personal Conflicts
10. Things to do to avoid Conflicts in an organization
Afterwards, the participants were split into divisions for group discussions on the five principles of Human Relations according to the teachings. There was therefore an excellent performance by them. This section was wrapped up for the commencement of the second lecture which was premised on the following:
1. Stop and Search
2. Vehicle Check Point (VCP)
3. Divisions of stop and search
4. Standard VCPs
5. The rightful Officers to engage in stop and search
6. Security apparatus to provide along while going for stop and search
7. Mannerisms in stop and search
8. Conditions necessary for stop and search
9. Actions that may violate Human Rights during Stop and Search
10. How to relate with the motorists, passengers and the people being searched, etc

On Wednesday 19th June 2024, the Chief Instructor, Officer Ayodeji Adeyanju alongside his team embarked on another journey to Ise Local Government Command where Emure and Gbonyin Local Government Commands were convened for the second phase of Amotekun Training Programme across the state.
The team arrived at the Training center in lse-Ekiti around 9:15 a.m where succinct address on Discipline and Dressing Code was given by the Chief Instructor. Barely after this, the theoretical facet of the training programme was kick-started by Senior Instructor, Officer Owolafe Bunmi on the underlisted topics/sub-topics:

2. Conflict Management and Resolution Strategies
3. Fourteen (14) principles of Human Relations
4. Differences between Conflict Management and Conflict Resolution
5. Types of Conflict Management Styles
